Benedict House

St Benedict's is a mens hostel. It was established in the early 1980's by the former parish priest, Fr. C Horan. The building is leased from Hartlepool Borough Council. At present, there are 10 residents, and there is room for several more. Improvements have been made over the years and continue to be made for the benefit of our residents. The hostel is not an 'over-night' stop; rather our residents consider it their home as long as they stay. Some have lived here for many years. With only five residents left, sadly Benedict House closed on the 12th March 2004

The building was repossessed by Hartlepool Borough Council with the whole area being redeveloped eventually by the Hartlepool Primary Care Trust.
